Don’t Follow The Crowd

I have read everything possible about how to make money online and I’m sure you have read your share.

If you’re not succeeding yet, take heart. As long as you keep trying, with persistence and determination, there will be a way for you to succeed.

THINK

Use the gift of your brain to find a way.

Let me give you just a few examples:

First, let me say: You do not have to get into the “business opportunity” and “Internet marketing” niche.

If you think you have to write a book about “How To Make Money Online” to make money online, you’re missing the BIG picture.

People have a lot of different interests and will buy information on almost any topic that will help them solve a problem.

Years ago I wrote a “Special Report” on how to find and re-publish works in the public domain. That report sells like crazy and still does.

My very first publishing business (at age 18) was with my brother.

We created a local publication called “CARS”… it contained news and a classified section for car dealers and individuals who wanted to sell used cars. It was pretty ugly (my first publishing venture) but it made money.

So there are a lot of ways to make money in ‘information products’.

My brother recently started a new ‘info-product’ called “Record-a-Round”…

It’s a system golfers can use to improve their game. They ‘record’ each round of golf using his ‘pocket journal’ and, used over time, it will show (in graphic detail) you how to improve your game.

And it’s NOT a HIGH-TECH product… it’s very simple, physical product for avid golfers…

If you’re an avid golfer, you will apprciate the simplicity and positive results this could have on your game.

So there are lots of ways to get into the info-product business-DO NOT limit yourself to thnking that you have to write something about “how to make monet online”… you don’t.

“Information publishing” is the best business in the world. And I’m going to talk more about it in the coming week… so please do not miss a single newsletter.

Why The Market Comes First…

If you’re doing any kind of business online then you know that it isn’t as easy as most ‘guru’s’ say it is.

But, it isn’t that hard either…

Today’s message is about the very basic things you need to do business online and the order in which you need to have them in place.

It seems obvious, but the very first thing you need to do business online is a product to promote.

It doesn’t matter if it’s your product or someone else’s product you’re selling as an affiliate… you need something to promote if you’re going to make money online.

I have stated in previous messages that the hardest part of marketing online is finding a hot product to promote.

Where do you find a hot product?

Look first to the market… find a market that is rabid, crazy and out-of-control… or as Gary Halbert calls them, “a starving crowd”.

Your market must be very hot… selecting the product becomes a piece of cake if you look at the market first.

Let me give you an example… one of the hottest markets right now is for secrets on how to generate highly quality traffic to your site.

After all, without the ability to get those rabid, crazy people in this market to your site, what good is it?

Let me give you another example… a hot market right now is for music online… iTunes and Rhapsody are cashing in on this huge market.

All you do is find the market… and match the product to the market demand as close as possible.

Once you find the market, selecting the product to sell is easy.

A so-so product sold to a HOT market will always out-perform a great product being sold to a luke-warm or complacent and declining market…

Find the hot market first and then find a product to fill the demand.

Most people get this important step wrong… they seek out a great product only to find out later that there is no demand in that market… even for a great product.

Don’t let that happen to you… find the market first.

Boost Your Business Profits

I wrote a message a while ago that about how it’s important to specialize in order to reap the most profits from your business…

“Are you a ‘jack of all trades’?”

Here’s the point: you can’t be ‘perceived’ to be great at 2 things at one time

Personalize Your Web Pages For Higher Conversions

I want to quickly alert you to something interesting.

It’s probably going to get me into some trouble with a few ‘guru’s’ out there who are charging monthly fees for some of this stuff, but I feel I have an obligation to let you know about it.

A little while ago a few marketers were selling a product that allowed you to ‘personalize’ a page based on the input of a user.

For example, if you were signing up for a newsletter and you entered your name “James” then the next page would say something like:

“Welcome James”

Well, I found a script that allows you to do just that on not one, but any domain you want and not only includes the persons’ name but any info they select in response to a survey on the previous page.

In other owrds, if somone tells you on the sign up page they are interested in email marketing you could, on the next page say,

“I’m glad you’re interested in email marketing! Let me tell you more…”

AND… there’s NO monthly fees for using these scripts! AND… you get the source code for them!

Personalization is a huge factor in getting people to take the action you want them to take.

Here are some other examples of what you can do with these scripts I found:

Example 2: This PHP code remembers a visitor’s first name, even months after their previous visit.

Example 3: This JavaScript and PHP code presents an ‘objection handler’ (don’t worry- all these terms are explained in detail) to the visitor, which is an exit survey that asks the user why they didn’t buy. After they tell you they’re presented with a rebuttal.

So if the visitor told you the product was too costly they could be awarded a small discount. The script provided also sends a thank you e-mail to the user, and records the totals of all choices, that way you know what needs tweaking the most in your sales letter.

Anyway, there is a difference between this script and what some marketers are offering: This is a “DIY” (do it yourself) script.

But customizing them is a piece of cake. Find out more and download them here:
